He has created a tremendous amount of excitement in the Angus breed due to his exceptional thickness, length of body and overall eye appeal. He comes from a very productive and prolific cow family that has always raised progeny with moderate birth weights and excellent performance. Considering the overall package of genetics, phenotype and numbers, he truly does stand 2nd to none.
Carcass: marbling 6.67 ratio 147- the highest marbling ever recorded at Schurrtop. REA 15.6 ratio 111. Performance: BW 80, Adj ww 751 ratio 115, Adj YW 1484 ratio 123, the highest ADG at 5.13#/day of the 2000 Schurrtop Bulls. Maternal: His outstanding young Supreme sired dam has a nursing ratio of 2-114. His granddam is the mother of 2 high ratioing and top selling Schurrtop total performance and carcass sires, "Big Steak" and "Classic". She has a WWR 12-104 and a YWR 9-106. This is one of the true high performance bulls of the breed. The thing that makes this sire unique is the type and kind of his offspring. they are thick, muscular, shapely and eye appealing with tremendous body depth and spring of rib, yet they are not extreme in frame size. They have very acceptable birth weights combined with breed leading gain, growth and muscularity. The average birth weights on 42 calves born at Schurrtop in 97 were: bulls 85#, hfrs 77#. They are easy fleshing and his sons will sire added pay weight and muscle. His daughters are big ribbed, easy doing females with extra performance.
Apex Advantage, sire of "2063" is a bull we retained for in-herd use for his calving ease , muscle, performance and outstanding dam and maternal traits. He is a proven calving ease sire that will put thickness, body and fleshing ability into any cowherd. His first progeny ratioed just 99 at birth compared with 102 at weaning. A calving ease and high performance sire that scanned the third largest ribeye out of over 400 contemporaries. He is wide based, has extreme depth and volume and is a very easy fleshing bull. SCHURRTOP REALITY X723 - 14543651 The Schurrtop 2004 top selling, top gaining and top ultra-sound bull. A sure-fire heifer bull that has seen heavy service the last two breeding seasons. His first calf crop was weaned the fall of 2005 and his progeny looks very promising. His dam is a Schurrtop Supreme daughter that is moderate, super long and clean made with a perfect udder. He is currently leased to a semen company in New Zealand that has seen a great amount of interest for his progeny.
